We meet together throughout the week in various groups, but our largest gatherings take place on Sundays. We have two morning services at Franklin Middle School at 9:15 and 11:15 AM. Sunday is the day we set aside to celebrate and worship Jesus, learn from Scripture, receive prayer, partake in communion, and experience living together in community.
Morning Services @ 9:15 + 11:15 AM. Kids at both services / Youth at 11:15am.
540 Cerritos Ave. Long Beach, CA. 90802.
At the Garden, we want our kids to know about Jesus. We do this by leading them in the Bible, stories and exercises, time in prayer, encounters with the Holy Spirit, and opportunities for loads of fun! We teach them the importance of intimacy and spending personal time with Jesus. We want to prepare them for the reality of living life in the world by equipping them with the armor of God (Eph.6:10-18), the fruits of the Spirit (Gal. 5: 22-23) and allowing space for the Holy Spirit to reveal their identities in Christ (Psalm 139:13-14). We have Kid’s Ministry at both our 9:15 and 11:15 services.
Jesus’ ministry on earth was spent hanging out with a rag tag team of 12 teenagers that changed the course of human history. At the Garden we seek to train and equip leaders to follow in Jesus’ footsteps as they are encouraged to walk with some youth in our community. We believe if today’s youth are given a space to encounter God in an authentic way, then they too can impact the world for God’s Kingdom. Our youth meets every Sunday at 11:15 at Franklin Middle School.
If you would like to volunteer, please email Amie at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Women’s connect is a group that creates space for women inside and outside the garden church to discover their identity in Christ and to promote spiritual growth and personal transformation. They have events and gatherings quarterly as well as an annual women’s retreat.

We always need volunteers on Sundays! It takes a lot of people to transform a Middle School into a welcoming environment for our Sunday Celebration Gatherings. Meet our Missionaries
We are the Nomavukas! I (Alexandra, a native Californian) moved to Kayamandi, South Africa in 2011 as a missionary and that is where I met Odwa, who is a native South African. We married in 2013, joined missionary forces, and had our beautiful girl, Lilitha (Lee-lee-tah) Amelia, on November 1, 2014.
We run the entry level of a leadership development group called Hats and Glasses working with boys and girls between the ages of 14 and 19. We also have a project called Cafe Fusion where we work with youth using hip-hop, poetry and performing arts as a means to discipleship. We have dreams to open two “transition homes” for young men and women who have fallen between the cracks of the foster care system and independent adulthood.
Check out our Website to learn more about who we are and what we do and how to give.
We are Brandon and Melissa Stiver. We are originally southern California natives, but now are fulfilling God’s calling to care for vulnerable children in Tanzania. We were married in June 2011 and now have three children, Promise, Shepherd, and Moses. We have been apart of The Garden since the original church plant in 2009 and feel blessed to be an extension of the Garden serving Christ abroad.
We work for the non-profit Global-Effect and oversee an orphan care project called Kingdom Families. Kingdom Families partners with local churches in Tanzania and the regional government to see children that have been orphaned or abandoned restored to loving Christian families.
I am Christine (go by Chris) Lichti originally from Long Beach, Ca.
I am working in Cambodia with Youth with a Mission. I work with vulnerable and exploited women and children. We are helping them get off the streets or out of unsafe situations, helping them find employment. We are also building relationships with families and kids in a nearby slum to find the best ways to help them out of severe poverty.
Thank you for praying for the people in Cambodia! God’s love and hope is bringing freedom to many.
My name is Nolan. My wife, Hannah, and I met in Copenhagen while participating in a discipleship school there. We have 3 sons. Colton is the oldest, Ryland is the middle son, and our youngest is Beyren.
We are living in Belgium and working together with Discipleship schools all over Europe, with the desire to see young people firmly planted in the Lord as well as equipped to be a part of the body of Christ. We are also working with a humanitarian organization, where our main focus has been on the adopt a community program. This program partners churches with small marginalized communities, investing into them physically, socially and spiritually for 3-5 years.
“Hi, I am Liz! I love coffee, cake, hospitality and God’s word. At the Garden Church I was involved in Women’s Connect leadership and Safe Families and am thrilled to be supported and empowered to be an extension of our community in London.
I originally journeyed to London in 2014 with Greater Europe Mission to serve in a variety of roles within Kahaila Church & Cafe and was given the amazing opportunity in 2016 to become Director of Kahaila Women’s Projects (Luminary Bakery, Ella’s Home, and Reflex). Kahaila is a church, a charity, a cafe and a community and the women’s projects were founded as an innovative response to the needs to empower women from multiple disadvantages. Together we support survivors of human trafficking, domestic and sexual violence, as well as women experiencing homelessness and those with criminal records. Kahaila Women’s Projects (KWP) provide environments where women can grow holistically – encouraging ambition, recovery, restoration, employability and entrepreneurship – through accommodation, training, mentorship, life skills courses and pastoral care.”
The Garden has a team called MISSIONARY CARE that provides ongoing support and connection for the church’s long term missionaries. They exist to provide missionaries with financial, spiritual and practical support through the First Fruits ministry, community groups and the Missionary Care volunteer team. If you consider yourself a short or long-term missionary, and would like to partner with the Garden church, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
First Fruits is the Garden’s initial 10% of income received, given away. Our desire is to steward our resources and give where God leads. This may look like giving to local nonprofits, organizations, churches, or to individuals and families for benevolence. If you consider the Garden your home, and you are in need, please email email@example.com.
