Meet Chris Jenkins

Here is his story!

I am Chris Jenkins, I joined this house church unknowingly, what it would be like, scared to join it.  In this house church I experienced true friendship for the first time, real community for the first time.  It saved my family.  It has taught me compassion, taught me true friendship, and true family really for the first time in my whole life.

It’s great to have a big family just as we have on Sundays, but it’s just as important to have a small intimate setting where people can get to know you and you can get to know and love them in a deeper way.

Last year Chris, his wife Sarah, and their two kids have been part of the Belmont Shore house church. We are so grateful for his participation and everything he has offered to his house church. The Belmont Shore house church has multiplied to the Bluff Heights East & West house churches. This is the life of house churches, as they grow, mature, and multiply.

What exactly is a House Church

House Church is the primary environment for experiencing life in the Kingdom and discipleship.

We gather on Sunday mornings to celebrate as one body, but house churches are a place where we experience family. Each House Church meets weekly and is led by a few of our House Church Pastors. In these simple gatherings, we come together to share a meal, worship, read scripture, pray for one another, and live as family. House Church is a place to participate in being the church.

Our House Churches grow and multiply regularly, so there are many that gather throughout our city and surrounding cities.

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:42-47
